Full time, Exempt, 8 to 5 Mon thru Fri 


• Promotes knowledge of clinical trial protocols and pertinent procedures and effects for patient, support partner(s), and care providers.
• Meets with clinical trial investigator to ensure screening and eligibility of patients for trial. Provides patient/support partner(s) prior to enrollment and during  the clinical trial to provide education on clinical trial, ensure compliance to trial and report to needed clinical trial base as indicated.
• Collaborates with affiliate coordinator from contracted research base to maintain effective communication and working relationship between facilities.
• Direct care staff to provide ongoing education for clinical trials, evidenced-based practice and/or research developments.
• Provides teaching and arranges indicated care resources and supplies in conjunction with pharmacy and investigator providers.
• Contacts patients/support partner(s) to follow up on any Clinical Trial patient.
• Collaborates with all billing, pharmacy, radiology, radiation, etc., for clinical trial needs, to ensure educational initiatives for clinical trials.
• Educates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team to plan and participate in quality initiatives and research projects. 
• Reviews patient information for pre-existing medical conditions and risk-factors. 
• Serves as customer service advocate for patient and support partner(s).
• Consistently collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team to establish and oversee plan of care. 
• Reviews physician and nurse documentation to ensure quality measures are achieved.
• Ensures that education is maintained for position.
• Serves as primary point of entry for providers and patients requiring navigation and coordination of care for clinical trials. Collaborates with patient and multidisciplinary team to identify potential barriers.
• Reviews patient information to follow up on diagnostic tests and obtains results of previous tests as needed for reporting to research bases. 
• Monitors patient's progress through all phases of clinical trials to ensure patient maintains eligibility for trials.
• Collaborates with nursing care department(s) to confirm continuity of care during non-business hours. 
• Contributes to community programs and education pertaining to specific clinical trials
• Maintains a working knowledge of NCI regulations and eligibility for clinical trials, reducing barriers for clinical trial participations as an advocate for patient.
• Remains diligent, detail oriented, and timely in the submission of clinical trial data to required data bases.
• Fosters supportive professional partnerships with Infusion Staff, contracted Affiliate Research Program Coordinator, Pharmacy, and Investigators.
• Participates in educational events to promote specific clinical trial programs at AdventHealth Hendersonville.
• Collaborates with community resources commonly to promote clinical trial opportunities. 

What you will need:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelors preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of North Carolina required.
  • Current BCLS certification required. 
  • Three years of oncology experience preferred.
  • Three years recent clinical trial experience in oncology preferred.


Facilitates the implementation and activities of clinical trial for patients participating in pharmaceutical company, NCI Cooperative Group, in-house, and other network trials for AdventHealth Hendersonville, physician investigators,.  Includes patient advocacy and education education of other personnel, and marketing and promotion of the program.  Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates, evaluates and manages nursing care of participants and data for assigned research projects.  Follows study specific protocol guidelines, communicates and interacts with investigators, hospital staff, sponsoring agencies and others to effectively perform clinical research and coordinate research activities.
