Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Provides direction for management personnel to maintain, repair, calibrate, inspect and clean the buildings and equipment assigned to the Facilities Management areas of responsibility.  These responsibilities include the Plant / Facilities Services functions at multiple locations affiliated with assigned campus.

•         Directs new construction as well as rehabilitation / renovation of all areas of assigned campus’s physical plants, outlying facilities, and their associated contents.

•         Administers preventive maintenance programs for all campus-associated facilities, including plant equipment, grounds maintenance, and clinical and non-clinical equipment assigned to the Facilities Management areas of responsibility.

•         Coordinates and participates in strategic planning with Administration to propose, plan and execute institutional facility renovation and replacement projects in accordance with Adventist Health System’s long term strategic plans, and the needs and service objectives of various departments of assigned campus.

•         Determines priorities for repair, maintenance activities, and construction / renovation projects to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness while minimizing disruption to operations.  Organizes, directs and participates in the compilation and analysis of data concerning departmental services and activities; takes appropriate action based on the analysis of the reports.

•         Maintains compliance with regulatory controls, including OSHA, TJC, AHCA standards and regulations, applicable building codes, and permitting processes.  Demonstrates a proactive attitude and seeks to identify and remedy situations before accidents or mistakes are made.

•         Oversees Human Resource Management of assigned departments including the hiring and terminating of employees in accordance with relevant policies, rules and procedures.

•         Exercises supervisory authority to suspend employees for misconduct, initiates the disciplinary process, and documents employee work infractions, performance deficiencies and conduct violations.

•         Responsibly directs, monitors and corrects employees in the performance of job duties in order to ensure adequate performance and quality of work.

•         Assists employees in an understanding of performance standards and provides employees with specific, timely, and constructive feedback. Uses independent judgment to adjust/resolve complaints, concerns and problems of supervised employees regarding work assignments, overtime scheduling and other work related issues.

•         Demonstrates the ability to read blueprints and other relevant types of technical drawings or literature.  Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of how to access Federal, State, and local standards and codes, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies; standards of operation for plant operations; work standards for skilled personnel; and material and equipment suppliers.

•         Actively participates in interdepartmental, campus, and regional programs and studies as assigned.  Continually seeks new technology and developments that will accelerate the attainment of the campus’s, region’s, and Adventist Health System’s goals and objectives.  Develops departmental goals and objectives that support the mission of Adventist Health System.  Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction and prudent resource management.

•         Administers budget planning and implementation processes for the various departments within assigned areas of responsibility.

•         Directs Environmental Services and all assigned employees to meet the needs of customers and uphold behavioral standards, as evidenced by customer satisfaction surveys and other reporting tools.

•         Ensures that all buildings and grounds are in excellent physical appearance at all times.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

•         Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant program required. In lieu of degree, 7-10 years relevant experience required.

•         Ten years experience in facilities industry   

Three years experience in management role.


Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or Vice President of Ancillary Services, provides direction, support and guidance to the Plant / Facilities Engineering / Clinical Engineering / Safety / Security / Property Management and Environmental Services areas of responsibility for assigned Florida Hospital East Region campus and related outlying facilities in Volusia or Flagler County.
