Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full Time – 8a – 5p – M - F

 

You Will Be Responsible For:   

  • Supports the Vice President of Public Affairs in leadership and program development
  • Develops and oversees the Florida Division strategic communication for all stakeholder audiences, including external (traditional and social media), internal (employee, physician, executive, Board, and support)
  • Works directly with leaders in government relations and community benefit to develop communication strategies
  • Develops, updates and regularly reviews crisis communication plans
  • Provides executive counsel regarding communications to leadership statewide
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications or related discipline (public relations, journalism, organizational, business administration)
Education Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree in business administration, public administration, communications or related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading a communications or public affairs team
  • Experience developing and leading communications teams 
  • Experience with a portfolio of work impacting business, economic, and community development
  • Experience as a leader within a hospital integrated communications team and/or leadership experience within a public affairs agency
  • Experience collaborating with corporate, community and government leaders on major initiatives
  • Experience in new business development, entrepreneurial endeavors and acquisitions
Experience Preferred:
  • 15 years’ experience leading a public relations or public affairs team
  • Ability to manage teams across distances
  • Experience working with community relations and/or government relations teams
  • Experience in public relations or public affairs agencies
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred:
  • Accredited in Public Relations credential (APR) OR 
  • Certification as a Public Relations Counselor (CPRC)
 
Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Corporate Communications ensures the organization effectively communicates on behalf of the mission, service, operations, and stakeholders of AdventHealth executes the stewardship of its social responsibility.  Provides the system with strategic communications leadership within the Public Affairs department. Brings experience and proven record of success in all aspects of public affairs, including media relations, issues management, internal and external communications, change management and community benefit. Possess extensive experience in providing executive coaching/counsel, and has a broad portfolio of work in strategic communications and an understanding of stakeholder relations and corporate citizenship.  Demonstrates success in building and managing teams. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
