Work Hours/Shift:
Full time Days 12 hour shifts every other weekend
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units
- Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and traces electrical pathways
- Ability to scan, correlate, and clip studies
- Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity
- Explains testing procedures to patient and family using age-appropriate guidelines
- Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources
- Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians
- Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs
- Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as requested
- Maintains diagnostic testing equipment and supplies
- Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs), while adhering to protocols and procedures
- Maintains accurate archive and retrieval systems for original EEG tracings
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- Graduation from an Electroneurodiagnostics school or two years of technical experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Job Summary:
Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), Evoked Potentials (EPs) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) testing.
