You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Reviews pt. lab results and pt. symptoms prior to scheduling stress testing.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling as to promote decreased length of stay.
  • Maintains professional relationship with ordering Cardiovascular surgeon authorizing permission for PA to perform duties.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in first assisting for surgical procedures
  • Demonstrates professional leadership qualities through positive interactions with administrative staff, health care team professionals, pts and pt. families.
  • Supports education by promoting and identifying in-service needs and continuing education programs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret data specific to individual pt. care.
  • Prioritizes pt. studies in a timely manner by physician request.
  • Facilitates care for patients in order to decrease overall length of stay.
  • Responsible for after hours and weekend call as needed

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Masters Degree in Physician Assistant studies
  • 2 years critical care experience
  • 2 years surgical assisting experience
  • Peripheral IV Insertion and Care
  • Knows proper Lead placement for Telemetry and EKG
  • Observes, identifies, reports & Documents cardiac rhythm
  • Basic Dysrhythmia interpretation/ dysrhythmia management
  • Maintains active CPR, ACLS and BLS
 
Job Summary:

Coordinates patient care under the supervision of cardiovascular/thoracic surgeon Conducts clinical assessments and educates patients per protocol. Responsible for assessment of lab values and clinical symptoms before, during and after stress testing. Responsible for determination of mechanical versus chemical stress and which chemical agent. PA can act under his/her own license to perform test without the presence of a Licensed cardiovascular/thoracic surgeon. PA can act under his or her own license to perform necessary test/procedures.
