Registered Nurse Charge Emergency Dept Full Time Nights

Work Hours/Shifts

Full Time, 36 hours per week

What you will responsible for:

Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations.  Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.  Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition.  Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.  Participates in performance improvement activities.  Supervises surgical nursing staff, assisting with staff scheduling.

  • Assigns personnel to particular patients and patient care activities according to personnel’s skills and abilities and to equalize workloads.
  • Directs and monitors personnel in the performance of patient care activities in order to ensure adequate patient care and quality work.
  • Reassigns personnel to different patients or patient care activity if appropriate based upon effective utilization of skills and workload.
  • Coordinates authority in deciding when personnel shall be permitted to take breaks and meal periods.
  • Assesses the personnel requirements of the unit on some daily basis and requests additional personnel when necessary.

What you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of North Carolina required.
  • Current ACLS certification or Basic EKG or Arrhythmia-identification and certification required.
